    Ms. Judy Eberhardt
Our children are our future!
All About Ms. E.
I am a graduate of Burton High School, Blinn College, and Texas A&M University. I began my teaching career at Burton Elementary School in the fall of 1981. Some of my favorite things to do are cooking, canning, watching soaps, and watching my Godson play sports. I live in Burton. My favorite color is green. My greatest teaching moments are when I see the light bulb come on in my students' eyes.
School Wide Rules
We have three rules for our campus. They are as follows:
1. Be respectful.
2. Be responsible.
3. Be prepared.
Becoming a Second Grade Scientist!
This year we will learn about safety in a science lab. We will make a science notebook in which we will record data. We will do activities and conduct simple experiments.
Math in our Classroom
We will be working on learning our simple addition and subtraction facts this year. All second grade students must have quick recall of these facts. Later in the year we will learn how to regroup in addition and subtraction. Look for hints in the homework/conduct folder on how to help your child in Math as the year goes on. Out motto in Math is "You've got to prove it, prove it, prove it before you can move it, move it, move it!"
Two Teachers in Grade Two!
This year there are two teachers teaching Second Grade. Ms. E. is teaching Math, Science, and Fine Arts. Miss Stanley is teaching Reading, E.L.A., and Social Studies. Students switch teachers after lunch.
Homework/Conduct Folders
Every student will bring home a folder each night. Inside the folder is a weekly calendar. There will be a conduct grade each day and sometimes a homework assignment. A parent must sign the folder every night. Comments from the teacher will also be included each day. In the pocket on the right side of the folder is where you will find graded work. It is to be taken out daily. On the left side of the folder I will put any important papers that need to be signed and returned. Any time a child fails a paper that must also be signed and returned. It will be found in the left pocket. My morning class will have a green folder and my afernoon class will have a red folder. BE SURE AND CHECK YOUR CHILD'S FOLDER EACH NIGHT!
